The Oriental Insurance Co. & MyTVS & launches “Our Oriental – MyTVS Emergency Roadside Assistance” in Bangalore

Bangalore – Thursday, August 7, 2008: The Oriental Insurance co. Ltd., one of the leading Public Sector Insurance Companies and MyTVS, the Customer Centric Car Services Business division of TVS Automobile Solutions Limited, came together to launch a unique value added service product called ‘Our Oriental – MyTVS Emergency Roadside Assistance”. Cricket legend Mr. Syed Kirmani launched this unique service in the presence of Shri M. Ramadoss, Chairman & Managing Director, The Oriental Insurance Co Ltd, and Shri R. Srivatchan, President (CCB), TVS Automobile Solutions Limited

This service, which was initially launched in Tamil Nadu in May this year and Kerala in early July is now available across Karnataka, and will soon cover Andhra Pradesh and rest of India by September 2008. MyTVS has been offering 24X7 Emergency Roadside Assistance since 2003 and is a pioneer in this service with a wide service network including a dedicated 24x7 call center. This network is spread across 90 locations in Karnataka with 220 authorized service providers providing emergency roadside assistance. Across India, they are present in 900 locations with 2200 authorized service providers. Oriental Insurance is one of the leading public sector general insurance company and has a strong customer base of more than 2.0 lakh cars in Karnataka and about 1.5 million cars across India for their comprehensive motor package policies.

This is a first-of-its-kind scheme in the Indian general insurance industry, wherein all motor policy package holders of Oriental Insurance can avail the 24x7 Emergency Roadside Assistance from MyTVS at no extra cost. This value-added service from The Oriental Insurance is available only for private cars and passenger carrying cars which are less than 10 years old.

In case of an emergency, all one has to do is to dial the toll free / helpline number, give the basic vehicle details & inform the location / nature of the problem. MyTVS will then organize one of its authorised service providers to reach the spot for attending to the problem & make the car roadworthy. Services include apart from 24x7 roadside assitance, towing, cab arrangement, arrangement of emergency fuel etc. One of the important value benefits of this association is in case of accidents, Oriental has authorized all MyTVS workshops for providing cashless claim settlement for their policy holders. This will provide all car customers in Karnataka a hassle free way to get their cars repaired with MyTVS in case of accidents.

MyTVS also has specialised network of flat-bed-truck to atted to the luxury car segment.
